Paul Irvine draws on his life experiences as a engineer, manager, artist, writer, family man and Christian for his writings which delve into the heart side of life to mine nuggets of gold. He hopes that sharing insightful essays and a future novel will encourage others to find their own nuggets of gold along their travels through life.

In his words:
My career has spanned from civil engineering to IT analyst to contracts management to applications manager. I’ve spent those same decades delving into the inner side of life – heart, soul and spirit – always probing, pondering, posing questions, driven by hidden childhood trauma that deformed my life. I eventually did the needed recovery work, leaning into the hard to find the healthy and restore the person God first created. I learned even a desert can bloom flowers. Thinking, writing, engaging God and my people has provided a way of deepening and expressing that restored life.
God blessed me with an amazing wife and four lovely daughters and grandchildren, all who helped draw out my emotional side and create a healthier balance within. My essays (and my in-progress novel) are born out of that continuing journey together. I’m sharing my road less traveled, where I’ve leaned into the hard and the healthy, where I’ve found nuggets of truth about God and myself which I think can benefit others.
When I’m not writing, I love the outdoors (skiing, camping, biking, gardening), renovating and fixing things (houses, cars, spaces), spreadsheets (always something to track) and of course, best of all, time with my wife, adult children and grandkids.
Back to writing. The words and thoughts can be roughhewn or heartfelt, but hopefully bloom like flowers in a desert. I hope they inspire others to embark on a journey to reclaim their true self as God created them.
